January 6, 1806.
After the defeat at Trafalgar the Royal Navy is scattered. Lord Nelson’s HMS Victory finally surrendered to a squadron of 4 Spanish Frigates of the coast as Brazil & the admiral is a prisoner now in Bahia.
After their defeat in Austerlitz in the spring the Austrians and the Russians quickly sign peace agreements with Napoleon. La Grande Armee boards their transports in Boulogne & lands on the coast of England. The garrison at Dover is quickly defeated & Napoleon sets up his Headquarters in Dover Castle. Prussia is kept on France’s side with a promise of Hanoverian rewards
Meanwhile across the British Empire the navy regroups. Army units in Canada & India are loaded on to transports and make way to Britain. Can the Home Army hold out against La Grande Armee till reinforcements arrive? If London is to fall, the young United Kingdom will scatter as separatist movements in Ireland, Wales and Scotland are already stirring up with the news of the French Invasion. Also should Southampton fall, the vital Naval Dockyards would be lost, isolating Britain from the rest of the world.
